RON did you see this one?

Yes but has potential. Rust can be removed(in most cases) and dents can be banged out but parts can be a long wait. It could be a nice project for someone who is into projects. I need a Kürassier spike actually. :-k

    The forgotten Hessian

Getting the books out! This is too interesting to sit back and wait. also I am going to have to bring up the parade trichter question with this regiment because I have discovered that not all books have documented this regiment when it comes to officers as wearing a hessen trichter vs a prussian...

    The forgotten Hessian

I have one of these helmets also with the Ludwig order attached through the leather shell of the helmet. From what I remember is Karl's helmet here the star is held to place on the Hessen wappen itself. I know of a couple other collectors who have the same attachment as mine and others who...

    Cuirassier markings

That wouldn't surprise me either but the neck guard has a marking that reads 59, I thought that was where the size markings are found. :-k C.E. Juncker Its a rather large helmet, so, 59 or 61 seems reasonable but why have two sizes on one helmet?

    Cuirassier markings

Hello Looking for some help here with these unique markings that we find on Cuirassier helmets. I feel that we have discussed these before but I am having trouble finding those posts. The helmet is marked as being manufactured in 1916 and has regiment mark behind the Prussian kokarde of the...

Prussian Guard Inf. EM M1895 Pickelhaube

I researched that stamp for a hour or so and I couldn't connect the dots. It should read something like KBAG or .G.R.z.F., something like that.

    Prussian Train M1910 Feldmütze

That one is nice! :o The colors definitely would indicate Train Feldmutze. I read two dates inside, 1917 and 1916. I can't make out what it reads right above the 1917 stamp. The Corps stamp BA VII would indicate regiment Westfalische Train-Abteilung Nr.7 Munster

Picked up a EK over the weekend

I picked up this vaulted Iron Cross 1914 over the weekend at a flea market. I don't collect these but for the price I paid and from what looks like a good one(maybe) I went for it. I would love to hear some input on it and its possible originality.

    Ebay seller with 2 ID's??

Yes I looked that up too, I figure maybe residence location and work location possibly. 45 min drive from each other. You never know. Not sure if they are original but they are definitely represented as such. I haven't had so much experience with visor caps but from what I have learned is that...

    M1915 Chinstrap

Don't jump the gun, those pictures are really bad and I wouldn't say "red rot" for sure. some leather on these chinstraps have a very natural reddish brown color to them. I would need to really see some good macro photos are hold the thing myself to say that it has "red rot".

Here is one on Ebay with a good example of Kürassier eagle and some other original parts, wrong spike and the 1916 stamp confuses me with the fittings. http://www.ebay.com/itm/160728336839?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649#ht_500wt_1254" onclick="window.open(this.href);return...

    Kurassier Adler

You have to get that book! and especially for you collecting wartime headgear. It is worth every penny. I find myself going back to that book more than any other book in my collection and I have about 100 books.
