Question on Mecklenburg DR17 Officer's Wappen

How does this wappen look to folks? I have not seen any photos of one with a Reserve/Landwehr cross that big. They are usually smaller on the officer's helmets.

17th Hussar Regiment -NCO (senior Farrier) and his sweetheart

I think he may be a VizeWachtmeister but not 100% sure. He is holding a schirmmutze in his right hand. You can make out the Totenkopf on it.

Issued Saxon Model 92 Cavalry Saber

This is an issued example of the Saxon Model 92 Cavalry saber. Similar to the Prussian KD89 but with a curved blade. This one was originally marked to the 18th Uhlan Regiment. A later unit stamp reads E J (or I) IV 20. I'm guessing a Corps level unit. This one is pretty beat up but these...

    Extra-degens of the German states

I love these model swords with the state coat-of-arms on the guard. I've managed to get one from each. From left to right, Hesse, Bavaria, Prussia, Wurtemburg, Saxony and Mecklenburg.

    13th Uhlan Regiment 1889-1899

The 13th Uhlan Regiment was awarded the Cypher in 1889. At the time their epaulettes were gold trimmed. In 1899 they changed to silver. The older model epaulettes were larger than later ones.

    4th Chevauleger Trooper

I have a sword similar to the one he is carrying, sold by a vendor in Augsburg. It likely belonged to a member of that Regiment.

    Prussian Cavalry Officer's horse equipment

I've been collecting various pieces of equipment that could be found on the horse of a Prussian cavalry officer. My favorite pieces are a parade shabraque for an officer of the 12th Hussar Regt, and the throat strap for an officer of the 16th Hussar Regt. Guard star that would appear on the...

Eagle Head Saber of the 2nd Dragoon Regiment

Officers and senior NCO's of the 2nd Dragoon Rgt and the 1st Uhlan Rgt were authorized to carry a special eaglehead saber. The difference between the two is that the 1 UR version had langets on the handle. This is one for the 2 DR. No makers mark and not terribly fancy, it likely belonged to...

    Bavarian Chevauleger/Schwere Reiter Officer's helmet

My early Christmas present. It could have been worn by Chevaleger Regts 1,3,5 and 7 or Schwere Reiter Rgt 2. Odd that it has 4 stars instead of 3. One of them looks like it was replaced.

    HR17 Group photo

Looks like a VizeWachtmeister and a couple Gefreiters in the front, and a bunch of younger Husaren in the back. Pre-dates the addition of the National cockade on the Mutzes.
