How does this wappen look to folks? I have not seen any photos of one with a Reserve/Landwehr cross that big. They are usually smaller on the officer's helmets.

I think he may be a VizeWachtmeister but not 100% sure. He is holding a schirmmutze in his right hand. You can make out the Totenkopf on it.

This is an issued example of the Saxon Model 92 Cavalry saber. Similar to the Prussian KD89 but with a curved blade. This one was originally marked to the 18th Uhlan Regiment. A later unit stamp reads E J (or I) IV 20. I'm guessing a Corps level unit. This one is pretty beat up but these...

I love these model swords with the state coat-of-arms on the guard. I've managed to get one from each. From left to right, Hesse, Bavaria, Prussia, Wurtemburg, Saxony and Mecklenburg.

The 13th Uhlan Regiment was awarded the Cypher in 1889. At the time their epaulettes were gold trimmed. In 1899 they changed to silver. The older model epaulettes were larger than later ones.

I have a sword similar to the one he is carrying, sold by a vendor in Augsburg. It likely belonged to a member of that Regiment.

My early Christmas present. It could have been worn by Chevaleger Regts 1,3,5 and 7 or Schwere Reiter Rgt 2. Odd that it has 4 stars instead of 3. One of them looks like it was replaced.

Looks like a VizeWachtmeister and a couple Gefreiters in the front, and a bunch of younger Husaren in the back. Pre-dates the addition of the National cockade on the Mutzes.
