Hi all
I want to share with You my latest Dragoner pickelhaube from 11DR. It is important for me because this regiment was located in Lyck, Ostpreussen, near place where I live

It is in nice, uncleaned, untouched condition. Leather is in good condition. Only one rosette on the right side and no traces of rosette on the left.

Can You tell me more about this helmet? What Model is it?
Spike is possibly to unscrew and mount paradebushc. This is my second dragoner helmet in collection.

That is a very nice older helmet in great condition. As to model, you should consult The Kaisers Bunker website to track that down. The presence of only one larger Prussian kokarde is totally correct though as this helmet dates well before the Reich kokarde was worn. Does your wappen have screw posts? The 1867 model has long prongs soldered to it instead of posts or loops

I was looking on Kaisers Bunker page and I am a bit confused which Type is this. Eagle is with ribbon, cocarde is 65mm. I think it could be m1867. No prongs to the eagle. All interrior screws, also on eagle and on spike are the same. Photo in attachment

That is a wonderful helmet. Basically as you have discovered, there is really no change between an M1860 Dragoner right up until they were eventually converted to M1894 with M91 chinscales. What makes these old helmets so endearing to me personally, is the thick heavy robust leather shells, and those enormous chinscales. You have found an excellent example. Congratulations.

Some more details showing that other rosette was never been applied
Hi,
I like the place where you are living, Elk (Lyck) at the mazurian see plate 👍
I spent some holidays a few time in the past in Gorlo / Stare Juchy.
Helmets from those eastern countries are pretty hard to find!

I saw this M1860 before, I think on a FB group. Great Pickelhaube!! Like I have told you on WAF, you have great items!

I have a 1868-dated Dragoner cartridge pouch and bandolier also marked to the 11th Dragoner Regiment.
