Hi,

Just wanted to double check people's gut feel on this one, no picture of the back of skull at the moment so can't show the money shot.

Guidance appreciated.

regards

Tony

Sorry for the confusion, by giving tumps up I just like to show that I like any post on the 92 regiment, not a statement that I think it is good, as I don’t know enough about these specific helmets ( we all want them, but I don’t, have one), so I don’t know

It's difficult to say for sure without access to the back of the T.K. But:
---The "Fuerst" eagle is for an officer.
---The T.K. is for an enlisted man.
First point of interest.

Next, I really don't like the two folding tabs; I much prefer threaded rods and square nuts.

Thanks for the input. I'm hoping for rear pics to appear. I know it's a big ask on these two pics alone.

Can I ask for an opinion on this one as well please 🙏 it has the threaded rods.....plus I have pics if the back.....a strange G....hopefully not for galvanised 🤢20260110_211358.jpg20260110_211416.jpg20260110_211424.jpg20260110_211516.jpg20260110_211519.jpg20260110_211531.jpg20260110_211535.jpg20260110_211542.jpg20260110_211611.jpg20260110_211638.jpg

To my eye that looks like an original. Yes it has cut out crown which is typical for private purchase. The soldiers and NCOs were not permitted to wear the large three dimensional officer Totenkopf. The most telling feature to me is the Bandeau on both eagle and Totenkopf. Pebbling is perfect as it should be.

Yes, this two Wappen are 100% private purchase... Not officer and not really in compliance with the regulations for service helmets issued by the Kammer.
This two private purchased Wappen may have been worn on a OYV or a senior NCO (Feldwebel) helmet, only to be worn outside of garrison.
I absolutely do not like the way the skull is fixed on the eagle concerning the first pictured one...
The skull of the second one is much better.
Here is a perfect one, as all should be.

Very nice.
A minor detail I have not seen before: on this second plate, it seems that the part of the eagle chest that is hidden by the skull is bare (no feathers). Can you confirm from the front view?
A plate strictly adapted to IR92?...

.I agree with what was said above. Indeed, the second TK is correct, but again, an eagle for an officer... Yes, perhaps Eigentum for a one-year volunteer.

That is a very good question, there are several smooth spots on the back of the second Eagle pictured, is this consistent with other known examples of this type of Eagle?

I personally do not have an Officers IR 92 Helmet so can I please ask are the Skulls attached to the Eagle at the same to points as the other ranks?

If so, are there also differences between the Eagles other than the Crowns.

Thanks in advance to anyone who has these answers,

Difficult question. Authentic and untouched 92R officer helmets are extremely rare. Many are Prussian officer helmets with a fake eagle and TK insignia. Here is one, a full and total reproduction,, sold as a "beautiful reproduction" by the seller.

Anyone

I'm waiting for a pic of front of Eagle discussed above with the skull removed. Will post it at weekend.

Looking forward to seeing the pictures. Thanks (y)(y)

I think that the handful of people in the world who may actually have an original IR 92 Officers Pickelhaube know the answers to my questions and are protective of the that information and rightly so.

Just how many were produced and then again how many have survived. The last thing anyone wants to do is give the fakers out there the secrets to how to make the perfect repro.

I am afraid the number of people who think they own an original, are a multiple of produced original helmets…
