Imperial German Helmet and uniform reference books

Yes 2 garde panthers indeed !!!!!
They're brothers! After my cat Belle passed away, I found these little rascals at a cattery, where they were raised. Found as little kittens, they were hard to catch as they were really born in the wild. But now they live at my place, 2 little friends, I just love them. I only wanted 1 cat, but couldn't let them be separated, so took them both home with me. The 2 brothers get on quite well here, they are happy, and so am I.
Little rascals! You have a cat too, if I remember well?

Great post James and an excellent reminder on the importance of these references! 👍 My son Logan has a cat “Manson” which he has had since he was 6 years old. Logan is 23 now.

I thought I would share some info and pictures of Imperial German helmet and uniform books for reference. Been collecting for a long time and accumulated a lot of books on the subject, these are not all I have but most. Some are much better then others and many cost a lot of money, but can save you a ton on making good choices on helmets etc. The views I am stating are my own and others may have other favorites etc.

James

First picture is the must haves IMO

1) By Didier Laine the bible of all the books, this is the one I most go to, simply a awesome book.
2) Larcade volumes 1 and 2, both very good books I use a lot
3) Die Helme Bayern if you love Bavarian helmets like I do a must have book!
4) Imperial German Headgear, a great quick reference if you are looking up what wappens or scales etc. go with a helmet

with the exception to #4, these can be somewhat hard to find and expensive, but if you keep looking you will find them,!
Indeed!

Yes my little girl Ninja
At 14 she is still a wild one.
She is the bully of the block.
After a long day of running the block she likes to rest sitting on our laps.
As long as we don't touch her !

here are some more good books, some are glorified picture books with not much information. The Bowman books are ok, bad pictures and some wrong information in them.

Ok. Those Bowman's do not come cheap. For the reference books shelf. Disregarding the mistakes. Like the Johansson's book?

Impression. A good help for your French skills.
