I have wondered about this myself many times,but have not found the answer 100%.Thank you for your feedback.Nice docs, thank you for sharing. I wonder if the patents are handwritten or just name filled copies. The handwriting looks so smooth and identical on every patend I saw.

Serving for the best part of forty years from 1819 to 1859 and retiring as a brevet (charakterisierter) lieutenant-colonel, he was recalled for service in the Franco-German war as the commander of the replacement detachment of the 1. Artillerie-Brigade.
Below is the gazetting of his promotion to Premier-Lieutenant effective 31 December 1840 as published in the Militär-Wochenblatt Nr. 6 of 6 February 1841and his listing in the Offizier-Stammliste of Feldartillerie-Regiment Nr. 6.
