I wonder … could a civilian walk in that shop and order something?

I am positive that they could. As you know, many of these were given as gifts. As the officer corps were at best an impoverished group civilian purchase would be a great conduit. Also if you look at the story of the captain of Köpeckne he purchased his entire wardrobe from a secondhand shop.

The adress was "Neustädter Markt", the place of the gold monument of "August der Starke".
