Cant say if anything is fake to this one
It looks al good to me including the eagle
One thing that looks a bit funny is the schubbekette hangs on one side lower than on the other or it could be the foult on the angle of the picture

Here are some questions I have about this piece. The stitching on the front visor is visible (not the folded over type visor construction). The chin strap appears to be missing the small buckle and is too big for the helmet, usually signs of a replacement (repro) strap.

That is a correct Tschapka liner, so it's possible the visor threads rotted and someone took it to a shoemaker who hammered it on from the front.

Thanks guy. The seller wanted too much for it so have asked him to post on ebay.

No that front visor was never hammered flat .
Looks to be a replacement visor.
The small leather bucket was always cut off by post war collectors .
They had a tendancy to get in the way and the quick fix was to cut them off.

Amy,
I could be wrong on this but when I look at the photo of the left side of the helmet I think I see a hole, just behind the M91 lug, that looks like a screw post was originally attached. If the BKA made the transition to the M91 lugs they would have filled this hole. I am no expert on Tschapka's (or anything for that matter), but I would be wary that this is a parts helmet.
The hole and the front visor issue would probably shy me away from this helmet.
Just my opinion. I hope others chime in.

John :(

Looking closely I agree now. The coreect Tschapka visor was sewn up and rolled over, this visor is cut square on the edge, so it's off a normal Pickelhaube. Sadly, some unfortunate person who doesn't know better will buy it.

Yes, some problems as noted...I also see that the "brass button" which links the scales together has been lost and replaced by a steel facsimile.
