Well Chas, In the end my interests went back to the Crimea, and one thing lead to another.

Received it a couple of days ago Mark. It does cover the later part of Passhendale from early Oct through to Nov and Dec of the battle.
The book is in a very simular format to the Somme book. Well worth the money.

Neither do I see the connection, but the bar is 100% original. That's what makes it so interesting to me. I agree that the Hohenzollern connection could well be through ID 28, this is the most probable senario. By the way the Hohenzollern is the gilt award.
