And how about this Uberzug on eBay? Looks like it is two piece construction with four steel hooks.

Appears to be Private Purchase, but who knows! https://www.ebay.com/itm/254946987911

    Soft Cap ID?

Hi John! Thank you very much for your research. The one in your last post certainly has a similar kokarde and correct color. I also found this one, which is still a somewhat different style but with single kokarde. http://www.kaisersbunker.com/dunkelblau/headgear/dbch22.htm I am tending to...

    Soft Cap ID?

Did find this..., https://www.collectorsweekly.com/stories/159797-imperial-german-officers-schirmmtze The color and piping seem to match up. Top photos show the actual piping color. The author states that the Fireman's cap did not have piping on the bottom(?). Still doesn't explain the...

    Soft Cap ID?

Thank you John. It may at least be a start. Shows quite a bit of wear. The fellow I received it from had another cap that was different. It had the typical Prussian Kokarde. They came from the same household, so I suppose it is possible they were switched at some time in the last 100 or so...

    Soft Cap ID?

Unfortunately I can't find my good photo-card, but these give a bit more of a presentation of what the cap should look like. The cockade has a red felt center and a silver/white outer, the the black fabric. The maker mark is: Heinrich Ehrich MutzenFabrikant FORTH b/ Nurnberg Thanks for...

    Soft Cap ID?

Hello Folks - Been quite a while since I ventured down the German Headgear Lane, but picked this up on eBay and wondered if anyone had any info on it? Yes, I know... I should know what I'm buying beforehand, but it looked like something. :???: Well anyhow, any thoughts appreciated! Best...

    Unknown Cap.....

:-? Been a long time, but I found this 'gem' and have not a clue as to its origin or history. Figured with all of the expertise that exists on the p-haubes.com forum there might be a chance someone would recognize it. I believe the 'top knot' and star may be later additions. Note theIMHO...

    Carbines and bayonets

There was an Artillery Version of the Kar.88 that did accept a bayonet. Can't recall if it was a modification (I think so IIRC) of the Standard Kar.88 or a new made firearm. They are quite scarce. Best Regards! - Mike

    Bavarian Sg98 Leib-Regiment Bayonet

Thought this might be of interest. It is an Sg98 Functional, Dress Bayonet Regimentally marked to the 5th Company of the Königlich Bayerisches Infanterie-Leib-Regiment, Weapon No. 53. Thanks for looking! - Mike

    Found a Feldmutze(?)

Thanks Guys - Best as I can tell, the kokarden look to be in 'original' slots, though the lower one has one of the pins broken off inside. Should mention, the center on the lower kokarde is dark blue, not black. Best regards! - Mike

    Found a Feldmutze(?)

Hello Folks - Been a while, but it's always a pleasure to know there is a place to go for answers. I usually stick with stahlhems and a couple of pickelhaubes, but this cloth feldmutze (I believe that is the correct name?) came along and I figured it would be nice to round out the collection...
