Hello, I could not pass it although I am not familiar enough with picklehaubes after 1866. I would appreciate your help with ID and specifying of all imperfections. I would say it is Gaurd Infantry M.1891,but the markings: L.G. 1893 doesn´t match with it. Perhaps can it mean -Land Gendarmerie ...

I would leave it as is.Replacing would be very easy-as a guard unit one- the spike has to be removeable,but in this state it has it´s "spirit".Outstanding helmet,congratulation! best ragards, Alexandr

It wasn´t broken and not repaired- it is whole new made incl. the flat brass plate! See haw it was hammered to get rounded shape.See also the "shining" square nuts/ according to me/ Be carefull. Alexandr
