Photos SOS 2023

Hey You Guys,

Thanks for all of the pictures.
I have been watching videos on you tube this weekend and am very disappointed.
Obviously the guys shooting the vids were not interested in pickelhaubes.
As a mater of fact when they pan to pickelhaubes they immediately panned away . ( I think it was Der Rittmiester's table )
Others would pass by spikes on the shelves by accident.
If you go by the videos shot there were only 2 pickelhaubes in the whole show.

Amy, could you please tell me the seller too? I saw the beautiful Prussian M60 and would like to see the it is still there.
Sandy, the Garde star and the m1860 are from different sellers. I can't recall how much he wants for the 1860 but certainly beyond my budget. Any members who visited the sos can remember who is the seller and the price?

Thanks for all the nice photos
really good ones
Two questions
I like the photos of the stein
but why is there a 1 Garde Regt zu Fuss miter on the top
of a 4 Garde Grenadier Regt stein ??
What do you think of the K W II Bavarian Uhlan uniform ??
Many thanks
Steve

Steve,
I was wondering about that also about the stein.
KW II Bavarian Ulan uniform with matching hat looks pretty minty. I thought it was interesting that the “W” and the crown on the shoulder boards are one piece. You have many more examples than I do but all the ones I’ve seen the crown is separate and mounted between the batons. What do you think of the set?

It was a great pleasure to meet Jvpi at the show, he flew in from the UK to be there. Excellent photos Jv!!

Thank you Brian it's been a pleasure for me meeting you too, and of course other respected collectors I met at the show too. 😊

Reference the stein I wonder if the lid has been replaced ?
The K W II set I think has been at the show before ?
I do NOT have any of K W II shoulder straps other than Prussian
but IMO he would NOT wear the cypher of his Grandfather on a Non- Prussian unit
I would not add the set to my collection
Steve
P S I have on file a very poor quality photo because I copied it from a site
These look a lot better to me than the pair shown on the uniform at the show
and more like what you wrote
they however have the Kaiser's grandfather's cypher
so maybe I am wrong about that
I also notice that this pair has double underlay Bavarian Uhlan Regt 1 K W I I.jpeg

Steve,
Thats probably a pretty good guess on the stein.
Yes, the double underlay. In your photo the Marshall Batons are Prussian, the batons on the Kaiser uniform are Bavarian! Plus as a Bavarian unit shouldn’t the button attaching the shoulder boards be a rampant lion? Mike K has a shoulder board example for KB 1st Uhlan Regt in his book pg 329 that shows double underlay as well.

Thanks
So both are a mixture to say the least .

The Russian Adrian, which most of my friends and colleagues believe is correct, was one of my purchases at the show. I was happy to get it!
