Hopefully I am in the right section of PH. A good friend has been clearing out the estate of his late father and found this helmet. He brought it to me to identify and possibly price. I recognized it as a lobstertail helmet with some damage but haven't a clue as to date, country, unit much less what its worth. Help!
Hello and welcome to the Forum. Unfortunately there is only one picture left in your post. Would you please upload the other ones again? Please with a Pic of the inner Liner and Bolts. Thx
Best wishes, Sandy
This helmet was for a non-commissioned officer/one-year volunteer in the Prussian Garde-du-Corps or Garde Kurassier regiments. Some parts are officer-style (shell, spike base, liner) and others of the enlisted type (front plate, spike, cockades). From the shape, one can assume it dates back from the early 1900's to WW1.
Ok is the site somehow preventing new members from using the Private Message feature? If so, I need to know so I can contact tech support and get this fixed. I have not experienced any troubles with recent PMs.
