    M15 Garde Enlisted Pickelhaube

Just acquired this M15 , with a very faint 1916 stamp under the crown. Original chinstrap, repro cockades. Interior a bit ragged, but mostly there, but very dry. I am not a big M15 fan, but this Garde example appealed to me, and it seems like a well used version.

    1 year volunteer Braunschweig Pelzmuetze

Some questionable items, like this one, and stratospheric prices are typical of this seller. That, and his high verbose descriptions are often wrong. I bought a rare visor cap from him years ago because he mislabeled it , saving almost $1,000.

Many thanks for your replies. Yes, it was certainly a good price!

Many thanks for your replies. I cleaned off the edge where the stamp is and it now looks like T.A. 14, the 14 somewhat smudged. I do wish the wappen was attached more securely. Also, I presume train pickelhaubes are not as valuable as those of combat arms?

Just acquired this and would welcome opinions as to authenticity. Body is heavily lacquered leather in great condition; cockades likely replacements and not sure about chinstrap. Interior leather shows some wear. Wappen only attached with two leather straps & a bit loose. I will let photos...

    Dealers stuff on Ebay...

On top of his insane prices, his item descriptions are often incorrect, despite his wordy blather. Savvy collectors should avoid him; I wonder how long this stuff has been in his inventory,or is it mainly consignment items? Methinks he has been frustrated trying to sell on his website; is Ebay...

    Dealers stuff on Ebay...

Der Rittmeister's prices are ludicrously high and he is not as knowledgeable as he purports to be. A few years ago I purchased a rare visor cap from him, listed as a Bavarian artillery officer's, but actually for the Leibgarde der Hartschiere, The cap is blue, with a black velvet band & black...

Another fake UK made helmet: Braunschweig

Shill bidding going on as well; not surprising.

    Original or Not?

Prime example of shill bidding; 55 bids ( !! ) at this point.

18 Bids so far, Somebody is going to get taken!

The prices listed for US caps are especially absurd. 275 pounds for a pre WWII Army enlisted cap, 285 for a common USN officer's cap, etc. ](*,)

18 Bids so far, Somebody is going to get taken!

I sent him an email via Ebay; no response, as I expected. The headgear on his website is wildly overpriced.

    Et Tu Czech Republic?

Looks like shill bidding going on as well.

    Traumstuck ?

No, it didn't, and it has not apparently been relisted. I was going to bid, but decided the price was a bit high, given the damage to the peak. Also, I already have a Cheveaux Leger officer's cap, for the 3rd or 6th regiments. Nice looking cap, overall, for a regiment that existed for all of 13 years.
