The flags of the Kaiser Garde Grenadier Regt. 1 / I Batl and IV Batl on parade

Steve,
My 4x4 Infantry flag is very fragile, you are absolutely correct, the weight of the embroidery can tear the silk if not handled carefully.

Dennis
My first flag was a Prussian Line Infantry white .
I think from the late flag collector Ben Weed (Old Flags Wanted)
via S. Wolfe
mine had been "netted" but not by the Germans
mine was like a fine fabric similar to ladies stockings if any ladies still wear them
the flag had been sent off for cleaning by an expert
somewhere I have a photo of the flag in a 4 X 4 with the cleaning solution
after that the flag was in great condition

Here is the count of Imperial flags taken to Russia at the end of WWII
Infantry 188
Jager Batl 4
Cavalry 32
Artillery 6
Landwehr Infantry 51
Landwehr Cavalry 5
Pioneer Batl 7
Telegraph 6
Kadet house 1
Steve
Telegraph 6
It turns out that the Russians captured flags of all telegraph battalions (TB 1-6), except one Saxon (TB 7)?
Jager Batl 4
Likely, there could be flags of Jäg.B 1, Jäg.B 2, Jäg.B 3 and Jäg.B 6, right?

Regards, Alexander

The KAGGR # 1 on parade .They wear the parade miters which were handed down to the regiment by the 1 Garde
Regt. zu Fuss after they received their new silver front miters .To the left is the flag of the I Batl. with the special
" Dresden " parade banner .The flag has a Colburg 1807 banner made into the flag body .The pole top is an 1813 Grand Cross
of the Iron Cross . The flag was replaced in 1900 .Next is the flag of the IV Batl which was given on 1894 . The IV Batl has a cyphered
pole top . All 4 Batl flags of the regiment were looted by the Russians after WWII and taken to Moscow where they were trooped in their Victory Parade .

Thanks!

As I understand it, to the Soviet Union were taken all or most all flags from Koenigsberg, Breslau, Stettin and some from Berlin and Potsdam.
Also is another list that was compiled in Germany in February 1944. According to this list, 6 standards and 2 banners burned down in Hannover in 1943.
Regards, Alexander.
