    One of the most iconic, in my opinion, german headgear was and remain the M1904 pith helmet. Here is an example for an enlisted man of the infantry brigade in China.

    This particular model was was approved in 1900 and introduced in 1901. The leather body is covered with a field grey cloth. Only the visor and neck-guard are painted feldgrau.
