I saw this one a re-enactor site (everything is reproduction) and I wondered what it is a copy of? I never saw this plate before:

It is the helmet plate for adjutants of the Princely Houses. In use, there would be the wappen of the Princely House displayed on the front...

Right...I thought there was something missing - thank's Arran. Do you have an image of an original?

Btw: I paid a princely sum for my house - I guess that entitles me to wear one - right!!?? 8-[
