Dear Collectors, Last week I received the Joe's new book about Imperial Germany. As I check the reactions, the book is already a best-seller in Belgium and Holland. It should be a best-seller in the US and other countries too. It's absolutely worth to check the book, to gain more knowledge...

    Value of Restored Helmet

I do agree with Joe, Semino's native language is Italian and his German is pretty basic. At least he's honest when you ask about his helmets. Prices may be steep, but if you take your time to discuss these, he's at least less expensive than the well known European and US dealers. Regards from...

    Bavarian General's Kugelhelm?

About 4 years ago, Helmut Weitze has sold a General's helmet, artillery style from Bayern. The fittings were gilt. The helmet belonged to Prinz Rupprecht, who was Chief a la suite. If I whach this one, I seriously wonder when the enamel shield was added.

Schuppenkette with missing strap and buckle

Gentlemen, Some of Kaiser Wilhelm's and other German nobleman's helmets I have seen, have Schuppekette / Chinscales with missing straps and buckles. Usually when a pickelhaube has these parts missing, it may be a reason to be reluctant buying it. Is there any knowledge about "what's normal in...

As I am no specialist on WWI german steelhelmets, I only know the logo's of the machine gun units and the Hoherzoln shield painted on it. Recently I came across a sample with a G, two crossed steelgranades and an R painted on it. Inside was painted: 1.GGR.10.102 W.H. It all looks original, but I...

    Daeler Question

Possibly it is interesting to send a direct mail to: [email protected] and ask him if he has some articles available. I guess his Italian is splendid, his German is good, but his English may be poor. If you have the book: Deutsche Offiziershelme aus der Kaiserzeit 1870-1918 Band 1...
