Help with ID and translation

Post by J.LeBrasseur » Tue May 30, 2017 6:36 pm

Guy's just picked up literally 100's of pics, will go through as I can and post the real cool ones, some will be off to Ebay. If you are looking for anything in particular, let me know.

Can anyone ID this fellow, and or translate what is written on the front?

Appreciate the help

James

Is that wounds or marks on his face or picture deterioration ?
Whenever I see a scar on the left cheek it makes me think of dueling scars. don't know if it is applicable in this case.

The British philosopher and historian R.G. Colligwood said, "it is not
the facts that are interesting in history, but the questions and their
answers - and these can never be fixed.
