A beautiful old dog just out of the woodwork

Post by Francobritishcollect » Sat Aug 03, 2019 7:17 am

Dear All

I thought I would post some pictures of a beautiful model 1915 Adrian helmet for a “chasseur” (equivalent of a jager in the French army) fresh from an old attic.

Never cleaned, never touched and left “as it was” back from the battlefield.

I am very shared as to whether I should give it even a small clean to wipe off the old grim.... 🤔

Best

Alex

Very nice example. I'm never against light cleaning. Dust and dirt from storage aren't really history. If it sat on your shelf you'd regularly dust it.

Congratulations, I agree with Pete, just a light cleaning to remove anything that could possibly create problems in the future.
