Repro Cockades

Post by garlanj » Tue Mar 10, 2020 7:05 am

Hi all, wonder if you can help with this?
A few years back I bought a JzP helmet with repro cockades -

They're about 66mm wide but are shaped like compressed beer bottle tops :D . Due to their shape they actually sit very well on the side of the helmet and the colour/finish look good. Interestingly, they are also magnetic.
I was wondering if anybody knew where they might have been made as I thought all repros were flat (like the real thing).
I'm going to put the on Ebay but dont want to mislead anyone.
Many thanks

As a novice I must say they really look real to me as far as finish and aging. Very good set regardless for repros. What were you looking to get for them?

And again as a novice, is 66mm the normal size for M15 model pickelhaubes?

Thanks to more internet research I now know that these would be too big for an M15 pickelhaube. Live and learn! Good luck selling them - very good repros that's for sure.

Thank you for this post. They really look good and itˋs good to be remembered that we have to keep our eyes open. :bravo:
Best wishes, Sandy
